When Does Winter Start in 2013?

The winter solstice is on December 21 in 2013. However, if you live in Utah it seems like a lot of areas just totally skipped autumn this year. I have seen some beautiful yellow aspen trees up north, but those seem to be the only really vibrant colors this year. Today when I woke up though it sure felt a lot like winter. I wish that Utah weather would keep a little better track of the calendar.
