What is a Cruller?

I heard the word Cruller the other day & decided that I must start saying it. It sounds so much fancier & healthier than donut. So I looked it up at wikipedia & I guess a cruller IS much fancier than a donut, but not healthier. The words aren't interchangeable the way I thought.

A cruller is a cake donut topped with powdered sugar, icing, or cinnamon. It's just an unraised donut that is twisted instead of round. The world cruller comes from the Dutch word kruller, or "to curl".

Dunkin' Donuts stopped carrying traditional crullers in 2003 because the process was too labor intensive, but you can still get one at Krispy Kreme.
