Could This be True?

I don't usually get any sort of facts or life lessons from Vampire Diaries. However, I thought it was interesting when Logan said that 53% of Americans watch the news while it was on mute. This seemed counterproductive to me but I guess it's pretty easy to look up and read a headline. However, I have looked this up and also just looked for what percentage of people watch the news with the sounds off. I couldn't track down any sort of information and I wouldn't believe it even if I could. It just seems like reading the newspaper would be so much more efficient if you wanted to read. Do you watch the TV with the sound off?
