The one problem I have with Wikipedia aside from the credibility issue is that it really doesn't have the origins of a lot of different phrases. I've been trying out several different phrase and cliché sites and still haven’t found one that I think is credible enough to fall in love with. The dictionary is no help either. Does anyone have any suggestions for sites that document the meanings of clichés that are actually credible?

Wikipedia has a lot of interesting things, but how anyone can add content and its reliability is poor.
I often saw a book called "Heavens to Betsy and Other Curious Sayings" for sale in catalogs. It is also for sale on amazon.com if you search by that title. Along with that was a book called the "Dictionary of Cliches". As for any online stuff, I haven't found one yet.
Found this on the net. It's from the UK, but has a lot of known sayings we use here. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/a.html
