Word of the Day: Antivalentinism

I found this word and an entire wikipedia page when I was trying to figure out the origins of Valentine's Day. There are apparently two schools of thought to this theory. The first one is that we shouldn't be forced to celebrate romantic love. The second one is that money doesn’t buy love. So Antivalentinism focuses either on not spending money or celebrating being single. Granted, I do love all the candy which will probably have me looking up the best cholesterol treatments later on, but the candy is the only good part of the holiday.

It's just a much more fun word to say than "Happy Single's Awareness Day". Hey, the abbreviation is (SAD) which is the exact opposite of what that celebration is supposed to make you. If I wanted to be sad I'd just stick with regular Valentine's Day. Now I just have to figure out if there is such a thing as an antivalentinist so I know what to refer to myself as.
