There are two problems with bacon. The first is that by cooking it I almost always end up with a few grease burns. The second problem is that it's so tasty but just not healthy. Even the low fat and turkey versions of bacon have a lot more fat than I need.
Lately I've been cooking bacon in the microwave because it is easier. I know that on some of the commercials for those microwave bacon holder things they say it's a lower fat way to cook bacon. In my experience there is tons of grease left over when cooking it in the microwave, but I doubt it's really less than from the pan. Granted if I had a bacon holder thing then it wouldn't be sitting in the fat the way it would in a pan. I tried to find out if this was truly a lower fat way to cook bacon but really couldn't come up with solid proof. Any ideas on whether this is true or not?

I feel that with all the preservatives put into ready made microwave bacon a safer bet might be the orginal stuff. And if you are going to have bacon you might as well go for the good stuff! :)
