Can Fish Hear?

I went fishing awhile ago. I loved all the bait, & flies, they were all glittery & sparkly. However, we had to be really quiet so we didn’t’ scare the fish away. This got me thinking, can fish hear? Can they see colors? I did some research & fish actually have ear parts in their heads. They also have something called a lateral line that helps them sense sound vibrations.

As far as can fish see color, that seems to be debatable. It would make sense, all of the lures are brightly colored, but what works one day, might be ineffective the next day. Until fish learn how to speak English, we’ll probably never know.
