Don't we already have a word for that?

I was watching TV, one of those non descript reality shows where people make fun of each other in the confessionals. One of them was making fun of the other one who was crying, or was shocked because they were crying & said "Then I looked over & her eyes were leaking." Her eyes were leaking? I couldn't help but think, don't we already have a word for that? Oh yeah, it's called crying, why can't we just go with that?
