What Was the Hottest Toy in 2012?

I'm still trying to figure this out, even though I saw my family open up their Christmas presents. I know what was popular around my house. However, I don't know what the big craze was for Christmas last year. I looked up some of the "hottest toy" lists and was surprised that stores like Wal-Mart and Toys R Us had assembled their own lists. I was more surprised that these lists had been just predictions as early as September. So I know what the retailers thought was going to be a big deal but I don't know what was actually a big deal.
