Are Eyelashes Really that Important?

One of the most random services I've seen becoming a mainstream idea is just that there's a bunch of promotions going on for eyelash extensions even in my own small town. I used to think that the economy is really in trouble. It probably is, but how bad could it be if eyelashes are that important that people can spend $90 a month on them? I am too frugal and always use an online coupon for everything to be involved in those kinds of fads.
