How Big is a 17" Computer
At first this question is pretty simple. Plus, I decided to get a "grown up" computer that wasn't even pink. I practically wanted to send out invitationbox.com graduation announcements. However, what I wanted to know is if a 17" laptop is even practical. It just seems like you have to use it at a desk. So then it's not even going to have the advantages of a laptop. Plus, then you're going to be sitting at a desk with what is yes a big laptop, but is probably more expensive and smaller than a desktop. I honestly believe that laptops should be portable. Sure, it really doesn't seem like that big of a difference when compared to my 15.6" laptop. Does anyone have this size of laptop and do you use it at a desk?

I have a 17" laptop (MacBookPro) provided by my employer. I take it home at night and definately use it on my lap... both on the couch and sometimes on my bed.
I use it at a desk at work.
It's funny how it seems light as air if you're moving it from one location to another... but man is it heavy when carrying it in my briefcase!!!
I love the 17" screen... but I use it for video editing and other creative pursuits... so the large screen is important for that... seeing detail.
