Roller Coaster Facts
I think it was on Ny Ink where I heard a fact that I just didn't think could possibly be true. The guy from Brooklyn was talking about Coney Island. He said that the rollercoaster had been invented so people could get a feel for what mining was like. I was like "Ummm was there ever a big demand for that?" The little carts would make sense. So this article says that there have been several inceptions of the roller coaster. Apparently there used to be tours of the Pennsylvania countryside in mining carts. It makes me question everything. There's probably an amazing story behind things that we take for granted everyday. I started wondering about how certain companies get logos like Nike or apple bottom. So, really the fact was off quite a bit, but so was my disbelief.
