The other day I was watching someone paint and they were all professional with the easel and what have you. I noticed that the artist kept one hand behind his back at all times holding the spare brushes at a perfect angle. He went on like this no matter how long he stood there. Then I vaguely remembered this same posture in cartoons and I couldn’t wait to get home to look it up. As it turns out, this really isn’t a fact at all. I had thought maybe it was for balance, but apparently it’s just how this one guy was standing. Has anyone else noticed artists doing this?
