Potato Salad Facts

The one thing about running a random blog is that every year I want to do holiday facts, but I'm running out of them. So I decided to delve deeper into some of my favorite Fourth of July foods. Now for the 4th of July I am making a potato salad but it's going to be fancy because it uses red potatoes. To me, it's not a potato salad if it doesn't have pickles, potatoes, olives, mustard, and mayonnaise. Also, it needs to be cold or else it is gross. Yes my version probably also requires the best weight loss pills.

So I went to wikipedia and saw all different kinds of versions. Apparently some people just make it with vinegar, cheese, and spices. The heart healthy bunch opts for tomatoes and beans. The waldorf version has walnuts, apples, and mayo. To me, that is a waldrof salad with potatoes in it. It might be good, but it isn't potato salad.

What does your potato salad have to have on it to be potato salad?

I haven't made it in a long time, but from what I can recall, it has to have Potatoes :P , pepper, dill, mayo, maybe a little mustard, very finely chopped sweet onions and maybe some hard boiled eggs. I would like to have your recipe for salad please. I am always looking for new and better versions of what I have.
