Random Mount Rushmore Fact

I have a confession, even though I live in the West I've never been to Mount Rushmore. I know that people that live a lot further away than I do have been but I’ve just never made it. I just saw a special on it and now I'm totally fascinated by it. Sculpture has always fascinated me because when I look at a rock I see a rock. Other people see massive scale art projects on like hgh. I still doubt I’ll be able to make it so instead I’m just looking it up.

• Created during 1927-1941. On the travel channel it said that whenever they would run out of funds they would stop work. Then they'd just blow a whistle to tell people that they had money and come back to work.
• David Swanzey was one of the prospectors who gave it his name. Don't know who he is? Well you might know his sister in law Laura Ingalls Wilder.
