In my St. Patrick's Day research I came across several photos of rivers that are traditionally dyed green for the holiday. I hadn't heard of this. Of course, there was also a picture of the green water in the White House fountain which looked festive.
However, in a river I just find it odd. Maybe it's just because I live out in the desert and have never seen it before. It makes the water look like it needs a massive dose of murad. If anything it looks like toxic waste. Maybe that is the only color of green that they can get to make a dramatic enough effect but I find it creepy more than anything else.
