Unfortunately, I don't have the memory of an elephant. (I'd rather not be compared to an elephant in any way). I remember a few years ago that I read a brilliant article with different incidents of when animals cried. I don't remember any of the details.
It's true that most mammals are equipped with tear ducts & they do occasionally produce tears in order to wash out their eyes. Whether those tears come in times of grief or are connected to emotions is still up in the air. Do animals cry when a loved one dies or they have to spent too much money on term life insurance? What are your thoughts? Where's Dr. Dolittle when you need him?

I haven't the slightest idea. Good question. Let me know when you find out. Hey, why don't you write Animal Planet. I'm sure they have a place on their website through which to submit questions.
