No random facts here

One of my favorite storylines on "Gilmore Girls" was when Lane got pregnant. Granted, I don't have any children, so it was interesting to watch how a rocker chick would handle pregnancy. I love how she freaked out about it, & how she kept her personality. This got me thinking about all of the random facts that just reading a pregnancy book would bring about. However, I'm a sissy & just couldn't attempt even reading the book right now.

So instead, I'll just say from an outsider's view that that one of the good things about being pregnant is that you get to have an entire new wardrobe. Yes, that's what I see as one of the highlights of having a kid, you get to go shopping for two. I know a lot of women complain about maternity clothes & rightly so. I really like the selection at Kikis Fashions if anyone is expecting because they have really trendy clothes that are affordable. They even have pants that look fashionable. So now I'm going to go & not collect random facts about pregnancy.

My problem with maternity clothes was that many of the designers assume that all pregnant women start out as a size 2 and "balloon" up to a size 4. I, however, started out more akin to a hobbit crossed with a linebacker. Trust me - no one designs for my body type.

Being pregnant had many awesome aspects - feeling the baby move, knowing you're protecting something precious, people asking if you're having twins...oh wait. The beauty of selective memory is that it blots out the months of morning sickness and my preeclempsia (sp).

I became a mom and kept my personality and cats (so many people would ask me what I was going to do with the cats - as if I'd just toss them out the window when the baby arrived???). My priorities shifted, I'm happy to say. Had I stayed 100% true to my prior self, Liam wouldn't have lasted a week!
