My Only Baking Tip
I don’t bake enough, or at all really. So when I do get around to it, the brown sugar is at least as hard as whatever container it’s in. It would probably be easier to just break the jar & then pick the brown sugar off the floor. Not the best baking advice I know, probably not a great idea to try. I've also thought about just throwing away dishes after use so there is less in the vessel sinks to wash. I'm a bona fide homemaker.
So anyways, the brown sugar doesn't look anything like it does in the picture, it's as hard as a rock. A great way to prevent this is to keep a slice of bread in with the sugar, it keeps it nice & soft. That’s my one & only baking tip.

I was about to tell you about the bread in the brown sugar but you already knew. I remember thinking someone was being awful messy in my house, what with accidentally leaving a slice of bread in the brown sugar jar. I threw it away and then my mom imparted this universal knowledge to me. And I was really young. The salt & pepper thing I figured out on my own at a pretty young age.
As one t-shirt recently commented, "Boys are dumb."
