Every year I like to see what random non Halloween related things show up on Pinterest for Halloween decor. This year my favorites are:
1. Melted crayons on a pumpkin. I never liked this for artwork but for Halloween it's fun and colorful.
2. Use a pumpkin to stencil your house numbers on. This can be done on one pumpkin or several. It's a cool idea but I don't know how practical it is as you'll need to be able to display these year round or you'll just have two house numbers up.
3. I love the idea of turning these into sugar skulls. There are both carved and painted versions of this and I don't know why it hasn't been everywhere before.
Pinterest always has the most random ideas of what belongs on a pumpkin.
