Granted, it's more expensive than making pizza dough but it's also a lot easier. I've never been a person to leave the crust behind. I love crust on my pizza; sometimes I even eat it first. So I wasn't sure that I'd go for the idea of a Portobello pizza.
However, I realized that my favorite part of the pizza is sauce and cheese. This left a crust that's supposed to be about 20 calories. Sure, it didn't taste exactly like pizza and the texture was totally off. For what it was; it was delicious. If you like mushrooms on your pizza try a low calorie version and use it under your pizza. It feels like a gourmet option like I should be wearing chefwear and that aspect is fun. It did take a lot longer to cook then I expected but the prep time was next to nothing.
