What's a Cornucopia?

I know that a cornucopia represents a horn of plenty. It is a symbol for Thanksgiving and is usually full of fruits or vegetables. Then today I started thinking "umm what exactly is it made out of?" However, trying to find a Creative Commons Photo to support this wasn't working in my favor. It's used a lot in artwork and even sculpture but it's difficult to actually find the basket.
