Qwerty Facts

I had so much fun typing qwerty that I decided to make an entire post out of it. According to wikipedia:

This started in the 1970s with Christopher Sholes. The first version only had two rows.
This isn't a verified wikipedia fact but apparently the R was moved so the word typewriter could be written from one line. Try it, it works. I wonder if they'd choose a phrase like diet pill reviews now.
The standard qwerty keyboard actually really favors left hand people.
So basically wikipedia and history are both saying that they don't know why the letters are arranged the way they are on a qwerty keyboard but all alternatives always seem to fail.
