It just kind of slipped out, you know that thing that your mom used to say that you used to make fun of her for? I vowed when I was a kid that I would never say that. I only wish that I was naturally thin like my mom but if I had to take alli weight loss I'd consider it just because I refuse to get older. I just muttered "man alive" when I was frustrated. I stopped being frustrated at whatever I was frustrated about. Then I started being frustrated about the fact that apparently I’m turning into my mother. I bet you she got the phrase from her mother.
This made me wonder if perhaps this was a phrase that maybe only my family said. Has anyone else heard this before? This is one of those phrases that have all different kinds of possible origins like the sea, religion, and foreign languages. I still don't know which one is true. So I did a google search and found out that the phrase we use to avoid swear words probably originates in swear words. Just don't tell my mom.

Yep, grew up hearing and now using it, but not so often any more. I think I heard my mother use it more than my father. She is from Ohio, he is from Texas. Maybe she picked it up from him, that has happend with other habits too.
