This is a story that is often recounted to every dreamer or fledgling small business owner. Believe me as a fledgling writer, I've heard this several times. It's rumored that van Gogh only sold one painting in his lifetime. I wanted to find out if this is true so I would have something to say other than "umm ok" when people told me this story. According to wikipedia and several gallery sites this is true. The painting was entitled "Red Vineyards near Arles" and was painted in 1888. Anna Boch bought it in 1890. It is now at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.
