I'm pretty sure that the week that we learned about pronunciation in elementary school I had my tonsils out. I've kind of been confounded by it ever since then. This has led me to just not words when I wasn't sure about pronunciation even though I'm a pretty big reader.
I was really thrilled when I found a talking dictionary. It's as handy as getting a credit score online. Actually it's the same online dictionary I always used; I just never noticed the little speaker icon next to the word. You can read the definition of the word and or listen to audio pronouncing it for you. It's probably one of my new favorite items just because I finally made up for that week when I sat home and ate ice cream in elementary school. (Hey, it was Dr. ordered.)
