Gruntled

I can't remember where I heard this conversation, probably on the tv. A character was accused of being disgruntled & they replied "I am fully gruntled". Sure, we say disgruntled all the time, it's how I feel when it's time to work out & I don't have a treadmill & there is three feet of snow on the ground. We never use what Merriam Webster refers to as the back formation which is gruntled.

Gruntled is actually in the dictionary & means:

to put in a good humor

I hate having normal conversations. So when someone asks me "How are you?" I try to have a unique response. I can only imagine what would happen if I said that I was gruntled. I'm definitely going to give it a try.

I never knew it was real! I say that I'm gruntled all the time. But I thought I was being funny by using an unreal word. Damn. I'll have to find something else totally unreal.
