I just moved to an area where the newscaster talks about triple digits a lot. I have learned that after a week of 104 degree weather 90 degrees is perfect. I have learned that I can burn even with a high spf lotion on. To console myself I wanted to know the highest temperature on record before I started looking at long distance movers and wondering what the summers on Prince Edward Island would be like. Yes, I want to move there based solely on the Anne of Green Gables books.
According to wikipedia the highest temperatures on record took place in Libya on 9-13-1922 and rang in at 136 F. The highest temperature in the United States was Death Valley California 7-10-1913 & rang in at 134 F. I think I'll stop complaining about 100 degrees, or at least go watch newscasters cook eggs on sidewalks, they love doing that.
