If you asked me about why we celebrate Valentine's Day I would probably spout off something about how Hallmark made it up. Wikipedia had two theories. The first theory has to do with Chaucer & "courtly love", which pretty much means that I'm yawning.The second theory is a lot cooler. Saint Valentine got dumped by his girl so he tore out his heart with a knife & sent it to her. We send valentines as a tribute to this passion. I would like to see Hallmark put that on a card. I for one, will not feel bad if I don't get a valentine this year. Maybe Valentine's Day isn't so bad after all.
